Undergraduate Program

Program Description

The Bachelor of Theology (Th.B.) program provides students with the academic and ministerial foundations needed for a wide variety of ecclesiastical work.  Th.B. students will emerge from this program with a thorough knowledge of the Bible, theology, and practical ministry. This program will fully equip students to go and spread the good news  and it will give them the foundations they need to enter graduate studies.

 

Th.B. at WTS requires 120 credit hours of prescribed studies for the completion of the degree.  It consists of 36 credit hours of general education credits will expose students to the breadth and depth of the world of higher education, 30 credit hours of basic biblical and theological studies, 18 credit hours of ministries studies, 6 credit hours of biblical language studies, 18 credit hours of advanced biblical and theological studies, and 12 credit hours of free electives.

Student Learning Outcomes:

Upon completion of the program, students will be able to:

  • Describe the basic contents of the Old and New Testaments.

  • Interpret the biblical text and apply the biblical teaching into contemporary contexts.

  • Explain the essential doctrines of Christian faith.

  • Demonstrate foundational ministry skills including evangelism and Bible teaching.

  • Manifest a personal relationship with God and truthful Christian character.

Degree Program Requirements:

  • Completion of 120 credit hours of prescribed studies in the curriculum and have completed a minimum 25% of full-time residency as a student at WTS.

  • Achieve a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point.

  • Clear all indebtedness and other obligations to the Seminary.

  • Complete an exit interview conducted by the Academic and Finance Offices, if applicable.
